PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports)
RESPECTFUL • RESPONSIBLE • SAFE • KIND
In our efforts to establish Brookville Elementary School as a safe, welcoming, and purposeful learning environment, we have implemented a framework called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS actively encourages students to achieve their academic potential while also showing good character through their behavior.
At Brookville Elementary, the focus is on teaching and encouraging appropriate behavior in all areas of the school, concentrating on being respectful, being responsible, being safe, and being kind. Students who are able to exemplify these traits are able to maximize their learning opportunities and do not detract or interfere with the learning opportunities of their classmates.
Students who are observed following the BES behavior expectations can earn Blue Devil Bucks. Any staff member may award any student at any grade level a Blue Devil Buck. The Blue Devil Buck clearly communicates that, when students follow expectations, their behavior will be positively acknowledged.
Students will redeem their Blue Devils Bucks once per month. PTA volunteers will come to each classroom on the assigned days and students will be able to shop from the Blue Devil Store using their Blue Devil Bucks as "money" to purchase items. Once students have purchased an item, they will be asked to place the item in their book bag right away.
Our Blue Devil Store would not be possible without the generosity of our families and community businesses. Thank you to our below donors:
- Brookhaven Retirement Community
- Brookville Auto Parts
- Brookville Barber Shop
- Brookville Building and Savings
- R &J Tool
